Kudos on Flight of the Conchords :)

Does anyone know if patron supports ssl? It doesn’t appear to have any flags and using it with a regular ssl website for posting returns an error.

Gregg PollackJuly 08, 2009 @ 12:27 PM

Jim: I’m a big fan too, glad you got the reference

Eric: I’m not sure, I haven’t used it. Perhaps you should email the author?

Kevin RundeJuly 08, 2009 @ 03:50 PM

What happened to Episode 085?

Phil TolandJuly 08, 2009 @ 04:19 PM

I am the author of Patron. It doesn’t currently support SSL; it wasn’t something we needed when I wrote it. Now that it is open source I am very interested in feedback from the community about what features it needs. SSL has been added to the list.

Feel free to report issues at http://github.com/toland/patron/issues/.

@Kevin, 8+5 = 13, so maybe they skipped it because they thought it would be unlucky? ;^)

Thanks for mentioning http://RubyTu.be from our buddy Matt Williams.

Oh, and Flight of the Conchords FTW! :)

Kevin: Jason was in charge of getting out episode 85 last Wednesday. honestly haven’t heard from him about it. Sorry.

Keivn RundeJuly 09, 2009 @ 11:51 AM

@Carl, Good point! I hadn’t considered that these two would be so superstitious. :-)

@Gregg: Cool there really is supposed to be an Episode 085 then. Seriously you and Jason do an amazing job with this podcast. I love how you two and your guest speakers are able to keep the content relevant yet not boring. I also like how the podcast is usually about 10 to 20 minutes. That is just enough time that I can listen to it with out being int interrupted … usually. I strongly believe its because of work like this, RailsCasts, the Rails Guides, etc that the Rails community so awesome. As I’ve had to learn other languages/frameworks lately I often see how they have attempted to mimic the Rails community and maybe there are a few podcast or screencasts, but nothing that compares to what the Rails Community has.

CarlJuly 09, 2009 @ 06:48 PM

I second everything Kevin said (especially the good point part!).

Seriously, Gregg and Jason, you guys do a wonderful job helping me keep with with all the plugins, changing trends, up and coming changes that I don’t know if I would have kept up with Rails if you guys and Ryan Bates hadn’t been there.

Gregg PollackJuly 13, 2009 @ 10:30 AM

Thanks for the kind words guys, it’s very appreciated.

Thanks for mentioning the Sitemap Generator Plugin as well, Gregg. I was really dissatisfied with any of the other sitemap plugins. Glad you thought it was worth mentioning.
