RailsEnvy team switching to Java

by Jason on Apr 01, 2008

It is with a heavy heart I am announcing that, after much deliberation, we've decided to abandon RailsEnvy.com because we can no longer live the lie. Effective today, we've made the switch completely to Java. We're tired of Rails scaling issues.

The Ruby/Rails community has been great and very supportive. We will miss you all equally, but some more than others.

There is better swag available at Java conferences than at Ruby conferences. Oh, and you know that JRuby thing? Well guess what it runs on. Right, that's Java.

We can be reached at javaenvy.com if you have any questions or comments.

What day is it again?

CarlApril 01, 2008 @ 05:21 PM

You’ll have to redo all your videos, though! But at least then they would be entertaining (and maybe even accurate!). Happy April fools, guys!

Steven SorokaApril 01, 2008 @ 05:58 PM

Isn’t april fools just in the morning? hehe

Jim NeathApril 01, 2008 @ 06:04 PM

It’s a shame guys, you’ve been one of the site’s I’ve checked daily for a while.

I guess we’ve got a lot of Java vs Rails ads to come ;)

You rock ! :D

DrailskidApril 01, 2008 @ 07:18 PM

Oh NO!

This is terrible news! Why would you ever make a decision like that?!?

Should I stop working with Rails too?!?

Radoslav StankovApril 01, 2008 @ 07:47 PM

Sure, I didn’t expect this from you! I thought that you are working seriously and stealthy with ASP.NET :(

p.s. this is one one of the most shocking news today, next to the news that Apple was sold to Google.

AdrianApril 01, 2008 @ 07:57 PM

AHH! I can’t believe I fell for this.

Luke GedeonApril 01, 2008 @ 09:00 PM

Hilarious!

My first reaction was, “Way too obvious, guys.”

But after reading the comments, I am genuinely impressed! I am totally amazed at how many people fell for this.

I am nominating this for top April Fools Joke 2008.

Nice one guys. Would have believed it more on a different day. :)
